Question on painting interior plastic trim?
So I'm installing these things this week to replace our plastic E36 door pulls.
http://i21.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/8a/a8/83_1_b.JPG and I was thinking of painting this part to match the surrounding tan color of the door panel...so the chrome trim doesn't look too busy and to make it look cleaner... http://i5.ebayimg.com/03/i/02/7a/53/1c_1.JPG any advice onwhat to use in terms of painting or dying the trim to a tan color? |
Go to just about any automotive store, they usually have spray paint for plastic trim.

This is the effect I'm looking for...
http://i8.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/c1/1e/12_3.JPG its the door of an E90. Notice everything is color matched around the door handle... sweet.... |
as jrhaile, he dyed his door panels and stuff, so maybe you can dye that stuff
^^ james died his leather pieces around the handle, not the handle peice itself. You could alwyas see if BMW has a touchup paint that would match the tan interior.
SEM dye works on plastics as well. Needs to be prepper differently though
I like the look your going for Del
but the thing is del, youd better find the EXACT shade b/c if its a different shade its gunna look freakin retarded, ask if they can do paint matching with the dye or whatever your gunan use
what about airbrush? someone told me they use that at detailing shops
well in any case, dont you still have to find the right color?
