Zak (EcianIce on here) had a problem with the exhaust touching something else under the car at idle and the vibrations and shaking of the exhaust caused a rattle sound. He took it to a muffler shop and they bent it a little so it didn't hit anymore and that fixed the problem.
The old bolts were bent, so I got new ones, but I think they were too long...
That's very possible, especially if your new bolts aren't completely threaded. The nuts could be bottomed out against the bolt shoulder instead of being tightened against the flanges properly. The rings are completely reusable, don't worry about those unless you're actually missing one.

put in the new parts, new bolts threaded all the way to the head. The stromung is much quieter now, but I like it. Komodo - you would have been very happy with a stromung...
oh well.
