i dont think you will notice better braking power buy only replacing the pads and rotors.

you should really look into replacing shocks and springs at least if you get into tracking events.

if you want better preformance, you will need BIGGER brakes.
good luck though.
you also double posted, you got me confused... i thought someone deleted one of my posts, but that other post was on your same thread that is in the e36 area.
probably dont need to post it two times.

ya, sorry about that guys. I think I tried getting rid of it earlier.

And I realize that bigger brakes would be a much bigger permormance difference, but I can't afford them. WHen I get some more cash after my suspension, I may get some 330 brakes.

yes, those rotors, ss brake lines and ceramic pads will have a great increase in performance, even though they arent BIGGER.

my question is, can you please check you if your stock rotors are single mass/single layered. i remember vaguely that on my e36 they were 1 layer, but then again, we changed the brakes for the BMW and the audi at the same time, i might have confused them

just go with oem........ you are not going to buy pads that wil help you stop better....
if you want to pay more for brakes for whatever reason(track reasons are all that make since to me..) is to go with bigger brakes... i say this a lot... i guess not everyone here thinks the same as i do

when i was going to buy replacement pads and rotors... a kid i know kept telling me to buy after market rotors because you will notice a big difference... bullshit (plus i dont think taking advice from truck people is smart... its kinda like the guy at the autoparts store told me not to get the oil i was getting "that oil is too thick for your car... it will not run well...."
"uhhh... this is what my mechanic recommends and what i have been putting in my car for the past years.... you dont know what you are talking about"
"well a customer told me not to put that into cars because it isnt good, i forgot the reason.."
"right........" )

I am thinking about doing something like that, I do take my car out on the track frequently and I'm looking for better cooling in my brakes and a better pad with better brake fluid. I am definitly going to get pads and fluid before I go in october (probably not new front rotors because i dont have enough cash) and was that price per pair of pads or for four all around?

I plan to go with whatever is cheaper. ill go to the dealership and maybe napa auto parts and shit tommorow, find out some prices and what they recommend. I should upgrade to SS lines while im at it if i have the money.

Eventualy i will get bigger rotors and stuff when i have money. Right now i can sadly barley afford the pads. After the winter ill get full coilover setup then ill save up for bigger brakes. Sadly i was at the dealership on time and some guy bought 4 new rotors and it cost him over $950, so bigger brakes arent a priority right now.

that's because he bought them at the dealership, duh.

If you go for bigger brakes, I hear that 330 brakes are a direct fit in the rear and make a big difference.

I also highly recommend the SS lines, I have heard nothing but good things from people.

And for those that were wondering, the pads were about $60 for just the FRONT pads. I am not doing rears now.
