Having problems with dealership raping me over for money...
1. Are ABS speed sensor wires or other ABS components, wear and tear items...say like brake pads and brake sensor?
Not exactly. They don't fall under regular maintenance items like brake pads, but replacement is recommended at higher mileage intervals. They don't wear down and get destroyed from regular driving like brakes do, but they do fail or become unreliable over time.

2. Is it customary to replace both side ABS speed sensors when replacing or repairing one side? As you would brake pads, sensors and rotors?
Yes- customary, but not imperative. You're better off doing so. Why do it half assed, then have to go back again? Besides, it's designed to work as a system, and it's not good to mix new and old parts together.

Just want to confirm with what the service people told me....
I hate BMW!!!
Stop going to BMW of Manhattan. Of all places, the heart of NYC is not the place to get your car fixed. Bring her to Jersey, where they'll at least stroke you before ripping your nuts off
Thanks guys...
well I took my car to a local shop first and they charged me $25 to diagnose it and found nothing...so I felt the dealership was my last choice....

Is there anywhere near you that specializes in European cars? There are a bunch near where I live, I might go to them sometime, definetely not getting any labor done at a dealership.
