Purchased Brake Package

I just bit the bullet and bought my new brake system.

I got:

-ATE Power Discs (front)
-AXXIS Ultimate pads (front)
-UUC SS Lines (front & rear)

I will be sure to take pics when they get here and post up reviews of all products. I can't wait, going to be stopping on a fricken dime.

definately will dude.

I actually called my mechanic before I bought this stuff and he's like I can get you a sweet deal on some ATE rotors, $108 a pieace. I got the pair off of Turner for the same price. lol

I didn't buy any brake fluid, forgot, DOH, but I am sure my mechanic has some, along with new sensor

You should get some nice brake fluid, definitely.

As for the sensors, you don't need to replace them if they haven't alerted you to replace your pads yet.

Man if youve got the tools just do the work yourself.. its soo easy,

buy a pressure bleader (like 40 bucks from bavauto) and its a peice of cake. You can save money in the long run doing this too!!

Report back with results from the ss lines though! i want some too.

Does your car have ASC? If so, you might want to check out the bently manual. I believe ASC does not appreciate messing with the brake fluid.

my parents agreed to pay for installation cause of my grades last year. So I'd rather have a pro do it than myself.

Well watch your mechanic install the brakes when you get it done, you will realize how easy it is, and that you could have saved 100 bucks.

GL.

if my brakes squeak a lot does that mean I need new pads, or rotors? I heard e36's have brake pad wear sensors, hope I didn't mess mine up when I took off my bumper today.

Sorry about the OT Spieluhr.

Just pull off your wheels and take a look.

Pads dont need to be replaced unless they're to thin, and rotors dont need to be replaced unless theyre worn down, or have a 'lip' on the edge from the pad wearing down in the center of the rotor, and not the edges.

Try putting some brake lube on your rotors if they squeak to much.

Also, i dont know about you guys, but those sensors are a total waste of money, i replaced them when i did new pads, and 3 months later both had ripped themselves out of the pads and the pad wear light had come on.. no way im wasting 20 bucks on those gay sensors again.
