E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
damn dude. Breaking out the big bills for these projects.
And liek someone already said, keep track of how much teh tranny conv. costs you. I may be in the market once I become a millionaire.
I'm budgeting around 2k for the conversion.
For about 1,300 shipped you can get an m3 ZF transmission, the shifter linkage and boot, the driveshaft, the flex disc, the pedal assembly, all the lines, and the master and slave cylinder..... basically all the parts needed for a conversion. I'm also assuming there'll be about $700 in labor.
i'm what is a sn 98789 we all know who the other one is
whatisasn98789 (1:14:02 AM): somehow i always knew you wouldn't do something like that until you were at school and your parents weren't around all the time.
CalliditasCastor (1:14:12 AM): hah
whatisasn98789 (1:14:22 AM): its actually a really smart idea
whatisasn98789 (1:14:53 AM): the last thing you need is your mom going....when did yu get a manual? and "whats that funny hissing sound i keep hearing?"
CalliditasCastor (1:15:06 AM): hehe

CalliditasCastor (1:15:17 AM): part of the gps
CalliditasCastor (1:15:20 AM): "what gps?"
whatisasn98789 (1:15:24 AM): lol
whatisasn98789 (1:15:34 AM): "oh shit..i meant the radio mom"
CalliditasCastor (1:15:42 AM): haha
whatisasn98789 (1:15:51 AM): it tells me how strong the signal in the area is
AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Im amzed ur mom doesnt know about all this shit. My mom freaked out when i bought my CAI
Here are some thoughts on the direction I might go:
Boost Controller - HKS EVC 5
Intercooler - 24x12x3 bar/plate ic
Injectors - Bosch 42lb
Wastegate - Tial 38mm (with .5 bar spring)
BOV - Greddy Type RS BOV (already purchased)
HFM - Custom Technique Tuning HFM
Manifold - Turbonetics T3 Manifold with external wastegate provision (debating between this and audspeed's turbo manifold, both would be thermal coated)
Turbo - Turbonetics T3/T4 60-1 and stage 3 wheel
Tuning - Custom Technique Tuning Software
Piping - piping will be a combination of 3" and 2.5". i'd run a full 3" from the intercooler to the hfm with samco hosts and ss clamps.
Gauges - Defi Boost Gauges
Keep in mind this is a partial incomplete setup listing. I'm still deciding on a few other parts and might switch out a few of these things. This is just what I'm thinking as of now. I'd like to change out my HG to lower compression, but they're hard to find for m52's. This is going to be a long term process over the next 5-6 months probably, and along the way I will need to do a tranny conversion, s52 camshafts, and an m3 front bumper (and probably rims too, heh). I'm going to initially aim for about 8-9 psi, with an hp goal of aroud 325-350rwhp.
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
