95 325is
black on black

exterior: dirty as shit, he hasnt washed it forever... good god haha
paint seems okay. some of the fenders dont seem perfect. this is no show car, but i am sure with a nice detail it will look okay..
he went to bmw and they told him a suggestion for paint... he painted his front grey bumper and it looks like his door handles, though he said he didnt(door handles that is)
on the windsheild, in the middle, there is a little gash, looks like from road debre(Spelling), kinda afraid taht it might start to crack, but who knows
the back tires are WORN to shit. the front seem fine.. hmmm....
he i guess changed the pads and rotors a year ago...
he also painted the calipers red

interior- good condition. driver seat (on the entry sides) is a little worn, no biggie
by the clock, it says "windsheild washer low" but it really is half way full...
it also says "brake light _____(something)" as if they are not working, but when we got done driving, i had him step on the brakes when i was out of the car and they lite up.

i looked at the battery, and one of the connections was rusty...
3k on new clutch
he replaced the water pump a year ago
he i guess changed the pads and rotors a year ago...

when i drove it, it wanted to steer to the right, and it was noticeable

he said he had no problem with me taking it to a mechanic, just had to let him know before hand so he could take a day off from work.

he said that the least he would probably want to sell it for is 6.5k...

im not too sure about this.... what do you guys think so far?
obviously i need to take it to mechanic, but if it was good mechanically besides the things i listed...

Ok now if u want to sell the car 1st thing u do is make it presentable to the buyer, Either he couldnt wash it or hes a lazy fuck that dont care

.
As for the windshield and alignment being fucked up and not to mention the wear on the rear tires who knows when was the last time he serviced that poor car.

My thought on this car so far : That cars been used and abused.

he has owned it for just over a year
he got it for graduation.
now he is getting a z4 since i guess he got a decent job

ya, i mean, the rear tires were pretty bad... possibly a lot of burn outs? haha

That's probably 'Brake Light Circuit'. If the lights work properly, it's probably the switch under the pedal.

sounds like a total wreck. most of the things you mentioned would need repaired. It sounds to me like it needs probably close to 1000 in repairs. You can find a much nicer one for less money. Keep on the look out my friend. This one you should definately pass up.

Needs new tires, needs all new bushings, needs an alignment, needs rebalanced rims, needs balljoints, coolant, tranny/diff/ps fluid. Thats about 1500 right there, depending upon the cost of the tires. Add another grand if you dont do your own work.

Offer him 4500.

Also you should have looked at the oil, the cleaner the better.

Taking the car to a mechanic for a once over is a waste of money. Drive the car for a half hour - redline in the first three gears, make sure all gears shift smoothly, have a compression test done, check the underbody of the car for damage/rust/signs of abuse.
