Question New Exhaust Help

All right, I've pretty much decided I'm selling my System U to bmw4life on these forums. My reason behind it is there are a lot of hills around my house and I often get home in the middle of the night, so I'd like something a bit less agressive.

Here's my issue.... I LOVE the tone of the system u. It's by far the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on an e36, however I want one a little quieter at idle and low rpms and about the same at wot. I really hate the bubbling and backfire when rpms are dropping fast like dinan does I believe.

I want one that's quiet (barely above stock) at idle and driving around quietly at low rpms, but as soon as you floor it and go to WOT, I want a deep, loud roar.

I've heard remus is good for this, and stromung (but I'm thinking stromung might be a little too loud at low rpms). The next most important factor is tone and the sound of it.

Suggestions?

Manual coversion so you can throw it in neutral.

Being realistic get UUC RSC36. You need to read more about there newest technology. They specifically design there exhaust to do exactly what you are saying. Read European car's newest issue, they have a review on it. System U is there old tech and its nothing like there TSE and RSC series (which you know of course).

RSC36 is also $900, a bit more than I want to pay.

Anyone have any experience with stromung or remus?

Here
is a exhaust comparison. It says people have experienced rusting problems with remus.

Okay, that's pretty much ruled out Remus imo. And for the person who recommended bb-tri flow.. that website described it as "Almost unbearably loud.". Not what I want. haha

I'm thinking supersprint now... I've heard good things about stromung, but I'm afraid it's going to be too loud.

Schnitzer. How good is your German?

www.schnitzer.de

Your local Dealer should be able to get it.

Racing Dynamics.

Yeah I think so. I've heard good things about supersprint. I don't think it is to loud either.

Yes, Schnitzer is expensive, but they are BMW approved bits. And you get what you pay for.

You could do better, but it will cost you more to have someone keep fabricating bits until you get the result you want.
