sweet deal man!! the 325is is awesome. how many miles does the one your looking at have? i know there is a list of common problems somewhere on the forums here...i will try to look it up for you. the list seems to go on forever lol, but nothing huge has gone bad on my car yet and they are both e36's. one thing off the top of my head is the water pump. it has plastic blades which tend to crack and break off. ill try to look for that link

WOW, THAT IS A GREAT DEAL...
if the car has been abused its whole life, ya sure, 133k wouldbe a lot of money...

but i doubt it has been. if it has been taken well care of, that isnt a lot at all IMO

my 318 has about 140,000 almost on the block
i am looking at a 325 tomorrow that has almost 150k

just take a good look at it, and maybe even have a mechanic take a look at it

good luck man!
hope to see you around here regularly

Find out what's wrong with it. A '93 with 133k should be somewhere around $4000, no one in their right mind would sell one for a grand!

could be the start of a dieing starter...

if it takes a few attempts at turning the key to finally get it started, there is a hint to this.

also, if when you turn the key, and it sounds like its about to crank, but just hear a spinning motion and a clunk, this is another hint.

the bendictson(spelling) clutch can easily burn out (that is what happened to mine).... they dont use ball bearings, so they have no endurance at all. starters are made for very powerful amounts of torque for VERY short amounts of time

at first, if you r starter is dieing, your car wont want to start everytime only every once a while, then will start getting worse. it will get to the poiint that it will take a few attempts to get your car starter, EVERY time you start your car

but for that price, if that is all that is wrong with your car(if it is a bad starter), this is still a deal. i bet you can just give your car to a mechanic and have it returned for a few hundred

Hell of a deal even if it doesn't run imo. I've seen that problem that you described in an e30 and the crank sensor was bad. Sounds like it to me. If it was alt it would never start. Possible bad battery too.

Common Problems:

Brake Light circuit error problem - usually caused by bad bulbs or a bad brake switch. Cheap and easy to fix.

Rear Shock Mounts - Cheap parts, but can be time consuming to replace.

02 sensor - Will cause poor idle, bad performance and other problems. 70 dollar part and sometimes is a pain to replace.

ICV - affects idling and accelerating. Can be cleaned usually to fix or replaced for around 100.

Front ball joints - cheap part but a major pain in the arse to replace your self.

these are just a few of the problems I've seen quite a bit.
