4th time my AC has gone out (nws: language)
Fuck this shit.
This is the 4th time it's been fixed.
First time, stealer fixed it and put dye in it.
2nd time, I took it to a local shop and I said there was dye in it and there's obviously a leak, they just recharged me.
3rd time. they replaced my receiver dryer unit.
4th time is now, and it's 96 degree daysin the middle of exams with a heat index of 110. It sucks. Humidity is way up.
I think I'm just gonna recharge that shit myself because I think I saw a leaky hose joint under the car, but it could be my transmission cooling lines. (no spots on the driveway)
It can't be that damn hard to do, right? hook up a small canister of that shit to the inlet valve behind the right headlight and equalize the pressure.
98' E36'ers use r-134a, right? the older models used R-12.
something like this on ebay would be much better than taking it to the mechanic and having him do like 300$ of labor and crap to fix it for me.
yea dude i did mine myself (r-134a) just read directions. so you dont overfill your shit and blow somthing up, 2 mini cans should do it but try to get one big can with a gauge.
local autoparts or walmart ?(Car section)
Hum, I think I'm going to be needing Freon soon... is the diy very difficult? heh
screw A/C dude... haha ya it sucks being in 90 degree temps with high humidity in traffic, but i try my best not to use my a/c.....
i seriously want one of those little fans you connect to the window area that bus drivers have...
HAHAHAHAHA, but seriously... haha i want a detactable one : )
man i would do the DIy but mang my r134 is full unless i can pretend im actually filling it, heck use a hair spray can as my subsitute ya know, for the pictures :wave
no its not difficult at all, on e36's the AC lines are to the left of the engine, and when you fill it up, fill it up on the low pressure lines
