Fan Delete Kit ? Risky MOd? - United Bimmer Community

Hey i wanted to know what u guys thought about the inexpensive Fan delete kit for my e36, anyone here done it yet ? And were there any problems? or what do u guys think about this Mod?

i dont see any problem with having control of your fan, i've thought about it and its seems nice to reduce even a little strain from the engine and to be able to warm up your car a bit quicker

risky if you don't do it right (use the kit) or if you run boost.. otherwise, you should be fine

unless you live in the sahara. You should be fine. Provided you use the kit.

I read over those teo posts and my question still remains, so here it is:

I've read that it frees up 6-8hp and car revs up faster, have you guys NOTICED a diff in torque aka better 0-60 time?

having 8 hp, should help 0-60 a little, not a huge amount or anything tho

i've read the past article about this mod... and in understeer... and i think this would be a good mod!!!

now i'm curious about the torque now... how much GAIN do we get..?? I dont care bout the horse, i need TORQUE!!!

not much HP and torque.. and hardly enough to affect 0-60 times. It's a good free mod. Don't expect a ton from a free mod :P I can't honestly speak and say I noticed a big difference because I did it at the same time of putting in s52 cams, chipping and pullies...

Most people report a somewhat noticeable difference. You run the chance of overheating only if you sit in traffic in 100 degree + weather like every day. I haven't even heard of a fan delete going bad.
