Who has 18" Rims?
Hey, was wondering who here had 18's on their cars. And those that do, could you please post the size of tires you have: IE 235/40/18
I do, I do!!!
225/35/18 |
I did, till I hit a pot hole. Got to get mine repaired. I had 225/40/18. Pirelli Pzero Nero M+S... Great tire for the money.

255/30/18 Front 285/35/18 Rear
OEM m5 18'' Bridgestone Potanzas |
^^How you like the staggered set?
Am fixing on going with something like this: 235/40(35?)/18 and 255/40(35?)/18 |
The staggered effect should be nice, esspecially if you have a lot of HP, bigger contact area should grip better in the back
it definatly pulls harder than before, but i dont have enough hp to tell a huge difference. i mean they did come off a m5 and i have a 528
I ended up going with 225/40/18 GT-Radial Chamipro HPZ-40 Great tires love them handle like a dream. My next set of tire I'll probably go with 235/40/18. But for not going from 205's to 225's was enougth of an upgrade :D
225/35/18
i wouldnt do diff tire sizes in the back...... cause u cant rotate the tires and in more cases u will get understeer......I dont think that a 225 to 235 is going to make that big of a diff |
Well, so far my tires have been free :lol my boss still hasen't asked me to pay for them :D and I think he has completely forgoten about it, or he thinks that I already paid for them
Rooz! I have 225s on my 15s. WIDER TIRES man, wider tires.
I am going to get my M-parallels fixed... -_-
I am running 235/40/18.. I wouldn't do stagered (sp?) The change in slip angle would induce understeer.. Oh and wider tires do not make more grip.. only tire composition does.
i have 225/40/r18 (obviously) . the lower the middle number means the wider it gets. its a ratio of something but i forget exactly. so technically 225/35/r18 would be wider. my uncle who is a scca mechanic explained it to me. you will rub like no other if you put 255/35/r18 on there. unless your car is high enough. and possibly w/ the front. i donno. try it and let us know
the first number is how wide the tires are.
The second number is the % of the side wall. IE 225/40/18 have a sidewall of: 225*.40 = 90mm |
