Repair or Sell
Hey everyone, just a few opinions please. I recently bouht a 92 325i, with 172000km that Im finding out isnt in the shape I originaly thought. (See my other post under the canadian threads regarding this matter) anyway I took the car to my local BMW dealership for some repairs but the car has a major rust problem on the under carriage. Worse than I was told by the mech that did the pre purchase. The service mngr at the dealership suggested that I sell the car and cut my loses, but could he be saying that just because the dealership only wants to do warranty work and service work. He actually talked me out of doing some repairs, saying it wasnt worth it. All the repairs are nickel and dime stuff, but as far as Im concerned totally worth it. What would some of you do if you were told the car of your dreams had cancer and you should pull the plug and start from scratch.
Actually this sounds quite rare for the stealership to turn anyone away and say it is not worth it. Your dealers must be quite honest up there, cuz down here they would have racked that bill up. If the frame is truely rotting out then sell and look for another.. This will be a huge headache and a huge bank account drainer in the not so distant future...
