97 328i trans
Hey , 1997 328i first i have to touch the throttle to get it to start if not it will stall after 10 seconds once running it runs fine second the trans is shifting very rapidly through the gears right up to over drive before you get to 45 mph im in need of some assistance thanks for any help |

You shouldn't have to give it gas to get it to idle at a start up. I'd be checking the usual suspects, vac leak, clogged/restricted air or fuel filters, poor fuel delivery. Fix that first then see what your trans does. Sometimes they get a faulty read from another problem and do strange stuff.
