Airbag light came on after I detailed my car....
I got a couple of questions.... While I was finishing putting on my SreetGlow Strobes all around I took out the center console apart and it was purty durty... So I said "Let me detail my car" I pushed my seats all the way up and forward and it activated my seatbelt tensioner warnig therefore lighting up the airbag warning on the dash... (Second time I've done that)....
Question # 1
Does anyone know is there a way to get rid of it without using the Airbag Reset tool?
Question # 2
If not... does anyone have one that I can borrow... (close to me) make it a mini EastCoast BMW United Bimmer meet?
At this time, I haven't heard of any way to get around it. As I'm sure you've already read on other forums and searching the net, it's not as simple as resetting the oil or service lights. Short of paying the dealer or buying the tool, you can go ghetto style: either pull out the bulb or cover the light with electrical tape so it doesn't annoy you

I think amma hafta buy the tool.. thanks for the help guys...
We should invest in all these tools at United Bimmer using funds from the advertisers... and say the airbag reset tool costs $100. If you want to borrow it, you send me $100+shipping, and I fedex it to you, then when you're done, fedex it back and I'll refund your $100. Basically anyone on the forum can borrow any common tool (like code reader) for only the cost of 2 way shipping, and they're small. I'd need the deposit to make sure no one signs up for the forums and keeps it though, obviously.
Think that idea has potential?
Edit: This might work for bentley manuals too as long as the condition was kept well.

Good idea for tools.. if you actually accumulated a good amount of them, if you bought all the tools to do all the suspension bushings and let me borrow them i would love you forever =O

shipping would be expensive for bigger tools.... if you were to do this, we would have to keep it to smaller things such as a reset tool. no spring compressors.
