wtf no what?. ..... oem rotors are all that he needs..... why the hell would you pay more for something that isnt doing shit... haha it sounds like modding your car with bolt ons... kinda like exhaust... at least with exhaust you are getting a cool sound.. hahaha
Cross drilled crack between the holes. The holes are there to let that layer of hot gas that builds between the pad and the rotor out faster. Unless you are doing heaps of track days, it's just not worth it. BMW rotors are very good. As stated before, good pads, good fluid and braided lines will be everything you need for 99.95% of your usage.
Did you fit your front spoiler? It should have brake ducting to help cool your brakes. If that is not there, I'd recommend fitting them. Your rotors should also be vented ones, I'd expect.

The perfect break set up for our style cars is from Bavarian Auto (this is my oppinion).
Here's what to get...
1. Bavarian Autosport Cross Drilled Brake Rotor Set - Front 170.00
2. Bavarian Autosport Cross Drilled Brake Rotor Set - Rear 170.00
3. Mintex "replacement" pads Front/Rear 100.00
3.5 OR Pagid Sport performance pads Front/Rear 110.00
3. Teflon Coated Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kit 125.00
5. Ate Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid 12.00

This is going to be my set up next summer, when I need new breaks.
Things to think about:
1. When you replace your breaks you should always replace your Brake Pad Wear Sensor Wire.
2. If you don't want to spend over 500.00 then cut out the Crodd Drilled rotors and get disc brakes.
3. Cross drilled rotors look sick behind rims

Yes, they do use pads faster (but not significantly). As you have pointed out, the reason for the slots is to grind the face more agressively than a standard rotor. Hence the reason to by Mintex 1166. I've had mine in more than a year now and they have heaps still left on them. Used for road & track.

hey man, if you have to replace your breaks and are only looking for slightly increased stopping power just put on SS brake lines, and use some super blue. That will be enough for street use.
Does anyone else agree?

OK. Here is a quantified answer. NZ Autocar have just finished running a VBox on my car. The 100-0 (kph) was done in less than 31m. To put that in perspective, the new V10 M5 stops in 34m, an M3 CSL 32.55m, a Lotus Elise 111R in 34.6m an F360 F1 in 34.59m.
As stated, Mintex 1166 pads are the only real change to the standard BMW package. Brembo vented & slotted rears only. The tyres will contribute also, as they are also extremely important to the stopping distance and handling.
Braided brake hoses will only bring about a noticeable change if your existing hoses are tired and stretched. Again, mine are still stock.
