Hi there I bought a 1992 325 IS. The leather front seats have a plastic backing. I wonder if the plastic comes off.The lever to move the seat to let someone in the back is broken and i might need to access from back there...

As I recall, there are two screws at the bottom of that plastic cover. Remove them, swing out the bottom of the plastic cover, and unhook it from the top of the seat.

well i tried it and all those two screws did was release a small rectangular piece of plastic

If you live in Victoria, British Columbia, call Bimmer parts in Duncan.
If not, go to a junkyard and rip a seat apart so you see how they work
