E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
I just replaced all my bulbs and put Xenon bulbs all around once again. While replacing my high beam bulbs, I noticed a smaller bulb under the actual high beam h1 bulb.. I had noticed it before when looking at them but I always thought it was just a reflection. But now I noticed it's a completely different bulb, kinda like out side marker bulbs (not the corners but the ones on the fenders) what is that bulb for? it's not even wired or anything, but I ordered some white//blue led bulbs and some light blue bulbs to replace it with whichever one looks better...

Well I just received my ZKW today, and as I thought when I read your post, that bulb is not an H1, that is a low wattage bulb for the "daytime running lights" the reason it was disabled is to be able to use that connector for the DDE connection. BTW does anyone have the instructions on the installation of the HL, I need to know what pin is what. If you look at the car that someone was trying to buy, that car has the ZKW with no DDE option and it does have the DRL on. Again please someone help with schematics on the pins 1-4. I will post pics soon.
