Just Dropped My Car Off

I just dropped my car off. Bittersweet moment.

I won't be seeing it again until later this week.

In addition to the crazy amount of other mods, I'm now installing UUC Transmission Mount Reinforcements. There are 3-4 other things I decided to go ahead and do also like replacing the rubber boot connecting the dinan cai to the engine, and an oil change. When my brakes are changed, he's also going to paint the calipers red which should look cool. Also I'm finally going to get my ACS Petals installed. The cams are coming in tuesday probably, so I'll drop them of when they come in. For the GPS module of the AVIC-N2 headunit, I'm probably going to get a E46 style sharkfin and mod that to be the gps antenna.

Another mod I'm thinking about doing is replacing the computer and sunglass holder of the center console with a fitted 7" lcd touch screen connected to a trunk mounted computer. I'd use this to tap into the obd2 system of the car via usb and output realtime stats of the car on the screen.

Another mod I'm seriously thinking of that would be insanely cool is.... have any of you seen the Transporter? You know that digital code ignition system he has? I'm thinking about mounting a keypad and burning an eprom to trigger a relay when the right code is entered that will in turn start the car. I would disassemble my key and mount the chip inside the dash near the ignition so I wouldn't even need that. All I would need is to get into the car, enter the code, and the car would start. No key. :rock I'm waiting for him to get back to me with prices on this. haha, that'd be hot though.

Definitely want to see a DIY for this, or at least some tidbits to guide me along. Good luck with everything, Harry- I'm sure it will all turn out awesome :)

hmm, they keypad thing, how are you going to get inside the car, sometimes a key can come in quite handy.. but man, you have a nice car already, and its gonna be better

you should get a car domain page, and also, can you give me an application to where you are working? lol

Yeah, that's the only thing. I'd still have to carry the remote lock/unlock around with me. :(

I don't work anywhere, I own my own company. Want web development? Hit me up. ;)

Grr... uuc sent me the wrong pulleys. He's calling uuc and seeing if we can trade them out with a local reseller and get the right ones.

It will. We're installing the System U tomorrow evening... it's sitting in my garage right now.

Got my fan delete done today, waterpump and thermostat replaced, M3 X-Brace installed, Hawk HPS brake pads on the front (rears coming in thursday), calipers painted red, brembos all around, and my UUC System U installed.

The brakes are squeeking now though which are annoying, but I'll try to fix that when I get the other hawk pads installed on Thursday.

The UUC System U is FUCKING LOUD AS HELL. God damn. I don't have a cat either, so it's even louder than normal. I mean I TAP the gas on this thing and EVERYONE looks over. The loudness might be a bit much, but the tone is perfect. It's deep and agressive and pretty much screams "don't fuck with me", in a german inline 6 accent.

Thursday I'm also getting my m50 manifold installed, but I decided against the cams. With the money I saved from not doing cams, I'm going to do interior gadgets like keypad ignition and the trunk mounted computer system. :rock
