climate control

hi I have a bmw coupe e36 99. i am changing my fan blower cuz motor keeps going noisey and then packs in and i hav to bang it to make it work 4 a bit. but for sum reason when i change directional air flow to like feet or centre vents hardly any air comes out and i'm sure the air cud be hotter than it is this is the digital climate control model cheers

The most common fan motor problem is the resistor, but a motor that gets noisy and then stops almost certainly needs to be replaced. I have not yet had that experience.

If you have not yet replaced the capacitor in the climate control, you might as well pick up a cap and some desoldering wick next time you are in Radio shack and leave it in your tool kit, because you will most likely need to replace it eventually.

hey thank you for the reply i hav change the motor and works fine now any idea into why hardly any air blows through centre vents and footwells can onli get airflow properly through window ones

sounds like your blower fan may be gone.

hey i am also experiancing a problem with my ditial climate control sumtimes on a cold morning i cant uses hi fan speeds wen i need it most to help clear glass but after a few mins of it being on i can use all fan speeds any ideas?

also in this cold whether my windows are starting to steam up then frosting up on the inside my mate has got 1 like mine and his doesn't do it and mine dint either till a abt a few wks ago it myt hav sumit to do with wen i changed the fan blower in the engine taking tht cover off below the windscreen?
