E36General discussion and technical help for (E36) 1992-1999 3 series cars. 318, 323, 325, 328.
Anodizing is freaking cool. Similar to electroplating, an oxide coats the metal and one of the more comon methods of anodizing, varrying the voltage varries the color. It also has a tendancy to reduce a metal's conductivity... so if you ever need to have an anodized piece of metal conduct, then sand off a piece where the wire contacts or whatever. Since this oxide coats the metal, it also prevents oxidation (rusting). The layer is MUCH MUCH thinner than any layer of plated metal can be. It works by being a certain thickness, roughly twice the wavelength of light that reflects off of it, which gives it it's color. So this crap's thin & lightweight.
Pointless post.
Hey, that's kinda cool.
*ahem* GEEK! (the sad part is I looked up what it was and read about it a few days ago when someone mentioned it, lol)

So I called them, and the guys picked up "Rafie (my last name) yes, they are being packed and being made ready to ship as we speak, you should get them the day after tomorrow" lol, I didn't even say anything, they know me their by now, lol I just said oh, ok, thanks a lot...

Well, the pulleys are finally on. And I really do feel a diff, specially in low-end torque which is what I was shooting for and the engine seems to sound "beastier" and also sicne am putting less pressure on the gas pedal, am aussuming my mpg will go up So, yes I definetly suggest this mod to anyone who wants to do it and has some mechanical knowldge, it took a friend and I about 2.5 hours to do the all thing with tools and a lift.

Pulleys are doing great, am really loving the extra torque, engine seems to run better, and my mpg went from 19.6 to 23.1 and am still driving it the same way (kinda hard)
