brake light failure

First timer here, first bimmer for me as well.. thanks for input!

this is 1996 328i one brake is failing... have replaced the bul and socket works on the opposite side. looks like the housing is slightly burned, possibly not full contact there with the bulb socket. Is there a way to resolve this without complete replacement of housing?

I have repaired a couple of these over the years by pulling out the tail light (takes some persuasion if it has never been removed) and soldering the damaged trace and grinding it smooth with a dremel tool. Probably not a permanent fix, but they are holding up so far.
