Headlight Restoration

Has anybody done this?

I remember someone on bmwforums had a write up, i think it was el prez, but i cant find it...

If anyone has a link to a diy that would be great.. im just a little hesitant to start wetsanding them, i really dont want to have to buy new headlights.
