removing A/T shift handle

So I've search forums and still can't get it off. My shifter cable broke and needs to be replaced. Its got the T handle and I guess is suppose to have a set screw which needs to be removed but I can't find one. Tried yanking hard on it but won't budge. Is there a trick or am I blind. Everything I've read says either remove the set screw and pull or just pull but I cant find the screw and won't pull off. I'm afraid any more brute force and I'm gonna break something. TIA

Dave

T Bar Screw

Dave,

Their is a screw (A-KEY 3mm I think) about 1/2 way down the shaft section of the T bar. Move the bar into first then feel around at the front. Remove the screw then pull the T bar up it will come off.

Regards,
Marc

Thanks Marc. I finally found it after posting. Exactly where you said it is. Found it by feeling the handle and felt the opening at the front of the handle. Now on to figuring out the no start issue

Regards

Dave
