Talking What do you use to lubricate?

what kinda oil do you use, fully synthetic, regular oil? I'm gonna do a full tune up if $$$ allows soon... I got a whole case of oil in the garage, but I want to use full synthetic, but then I was told that it really does not matter, I got 175k miles on her, does it even make a diff? I heard that if you do go Full Syn. you'll start to leak.

Check list time!
Oil
oil filter
spark plugs Denso/NGK
wires
Cap and rotor

Good to go...

You could spring a leak switching with that much mileage.. i would do it anyway, just be prepared to replace the valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket, and in a worst case scenerio the head gasket.

You might want to consider switching to partial synthetic with that many miles. I use castrol "syntec blend" which is partially synthetic and partially petrolium based. Seem to work very well for me, especially because I have a good number of miles on my engine. However, when I rebuild, I will be running full synthetic once I get her broken in

KY Jelly of course! Only the best will do at the dealership!

I recently switched to the castrol syn tec on my 1994 325is w/ 100k miles. After one oil change of that, I then switched to the castrol fun synthetic I put in my z3. Had a little dripping on the first day. It went away after the next day.
