Help w/ replacing rear tail light E36 1996 328i Convertible

Hi--

I am fairly new to working on cars, so I am hoping to get some of your guy's expertise. My 1996 328i convertible got hit in the parking lot (someone backed into it) and it broke the plastic on the tail light. I went online and found this:

I looked at my car, and found the four mounting points. All I would have to do is remove these (the bulbs and wiring), pop out the old tail light, and put the new ones in. Is this correct? Also I looked online to try to find some sort of guide, but was unable to find anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's all there is to it, just clean out any dirt, grime, and debris, and check for any rusted areas you wouldn't normally see with the light in place (touch up if necessary), install the replacement, and away you go.

Hi, how's it going?
If its just the light that is damaged it is pretty straight forward. I broke mine a few years back and did some body damage, i decided to go for clear indicators and the body shop insiteded on fitting the damaged side because its not a straight swap, they needed to make it fit. Also get the best quality you can, some of the cheaper ones are difficult to fit and dont seal properly.
