painting calipers
hey guys! i just got done painting my calipers on my car, and i was wondering if you wanted some pic or some DIY or what ev. give me some feed back and i will have no problem doing it. i painted mine red, so it would match the tail lights and stuff later!!

while on the topic, I was tempted to have mine power coated a silver color and was wondering if there is heat issues with this? Because I know you have to use heat resistant paint when painting them,..

James, someone that lives near me said that they used engine paint because it is supposedly cheaper than brake caliper paint and is more heat resistant.
yeah but I know that anything painted can chip and flake and what not... so I have a fantastic powder coating place locally but I'm not sure if powder coating will flake too or what the deal is with it.. I'll find out.

Get the spray paint first, should at least last a year. You have slotted rotors right to reduce the heat? Also the paint on my cars engine only just started to flake and that's 11 years old or so.
it is a pretty simple DIY, just disconnect the calipers, paint, re-install, then bleed brakes. no major issues there. It is also a great time to flush your brake lines if they haven't been flushed within the last two years.

too hot omfg.. I had my heater on in my car this afternoon because it was so damn cold here.. like 50 degress.. now it's all sunny out and warming up but jesus!

jesus!!! lol i have been gone for a few hours. i am off to work right now, i will post some pics and the DIY later tonight!!! i have about 10 pics but i dont think i will need to use all of them. as for the paint, my friend had VHT red spray paint. very high temp... your brakes wont ever get hot enough on the street to worry about it lol. hold on guys ill get them up by tonight
