haha long driveway=rich? my dad is an airline pilot, but i bought my car my self. so ya... anyway. ya, JR do the powedercoating and let us know how it turns out. i just wanted something that would look good, if it starts to chip, ill take the wheel off and re spray it lol. it is very very simple. justmake sure to cover everything u dont want sprayed. luckily enough there was so much dirt/brake dust i got the back of my shock, but it rubbed off. AND clean the caliper until it is a shiny silver. make sure u get as much off as possible. later guys!!

ya dude, just take off the wheel and tape stuff off you dont want spray painted. one big thing is not to spray the rotors and when taping, dont get any stuck in there lol. the paint is my friends. VHT is the brand i think. he used it to paint some part of his engine or engine bay. it says it witholds heat up to 550ยบ. but what ever lol. vht= very high temp. hopefully that answered ure questions
The issue really isnt that they get too hot... its that if you paint them red and have open wheels it looks like shit when it starts to chip.. and it going to. Another alternative i saw was taking a metal/steel wool type brush for the end of an elecric drill and using paint thinner and stripping them down and polishing them... sounds gay but it actuallly looks sexxy.
wow, those polished calipers look awesome. i think I might have to give that a try next time i take my calipers off
BTW, i have never seen someone paint the calipers with them on. I guess since I was in auto all through high school we were used to dealing with taking the calipers off and rebleeding so this is just what we did to paint our calipers. But you seemed to do a good job at getting everything taped off. Looks great too. Hopefully it won't start chipping for a long ass time.

ya. if i wasnt in a hurry i would have taken them off. i just found out that i need to replace my front brake pads...so i will be bleeding them soon haha. ill run down to the dealership and have one of the techs help me. the dealership in my town is sweet! i just have to buy him lunch or something so he would stay after and help me. thanx for all of the great feed back. i guess i did it in a way no one else has, but they turned out very well!!! later guys
i didnt use spray paint, i used paint tht was actualy called "Caliper Paint" and came in a can w/ a brush, works really well, hasnt chipped or anything, and when i cleaned mine, i just ran some of their primer over it, i didnt wait until it was silver.. freaks spend way too much time on their car lol
lol, you guys are such wimps, when i painted mine, i took the caliper completely off(all 4 of
them actually) and brought it inside and painted it, then later i had to bleed them w/a pressure bleeder.. hahha and btw, when you bleed em, bleed your clutch too

I'm doing this right now as we speak with the same stuff I believe... hey is a tiny bit of paint on the outside of the brake pad housing bad? I've gotten a little bit on it.. it's not on the auctual pad though...
most likely not, and if it is bad, just get some of that anti-vibration paste/spray, it usually comes with the pads, but if u go to autozone/ advanced auto parts they should have it in a bottle or a spray
