Ignition set
Hi United Bimmers!!!
Maybe this question has been asked before, but I hope you can help me with my ignition set difficulties, My e36 1993 320i ignition at times starts ok at times it doesn't start and in that case I use the start button but I would like to have a key start and go instead of the start button. My question is if i get an e36 ignition set with a key will it fit without the programming issues, someone said i won't have difficulties but I need to be sure as I don't want to waste my money buying something which won't work/fit. I'm looking forward to your opinions and facts, thanks in advance. I'm in South Africa, please I need suggestions please, i'm confused:dunno |
Well the 1993 e36 is not a chipped key setup so you should have no probs.........iree

ignition
I know that in our beloveth South Africa there's the reg. issues as I once wanted to buy a BMW service manual but it didn't include my e36 reg. no. and I didn't buy I thought it would be best to buy the famous BMW e36 service book. Answering your question I think it would matter whether it's any reg no. e36, as it's the 97 model try to get the same year's ignition but you'll need to programme ( i don't know how pls don't ask me) best of luck:woot

Hi there,
I was hoping someone could help me. My original keyless entry key for my 1995 328i Conv is too worn to use and the dealership want over $600 for a new one. If i buy an identical blank key online can i just take out the EWS chip from my existing key and place it inside the house of the new blank key and then have the key cut. Will this allow me to use the key to start the car ? Am i also able to programe the key for keyless entry etc ? some help on this would be appreciated. I recently purchased the exact same key with all inside electronics as my existing one except it is a blank key. Thanks |
Hi Guys!!!
I can't get an ignition set without a chipped key in South Africa, I can only get the ones with chipped key and my mechanic said it won't work. Any help with selling me non chipped key ignition or any advise, tnx |
