what are the rim sizes for an E36

Im looking to upgrade my rims soon (during the summer hopefully) mostly cause the one of the tires is messed up probably cause the i smoked a bunch of potholes on the way to a football game.

What i need to know is whats the max rim size i can have (height and width) without having to roll the fenders or do any mods to the fenders. Theres a set of rims i was looking at that come in 18" and 19" Ill probably end up with the 18"s. I wanna go with something around an 8" width on the front and maybe an 8.5" or 9" with a lip.

Anyone here have 18"s on there car that can help me out ? Pics of the rim i wanna get are below. The first 2 pics or of Axis Milano rims. the other i dont have the name for but those or some BBS are a good possibiliy. Lemme know what u think.

Deloriant has 18's.. I know someone else was rocking 19's... But I know you definetly need tor oll your fenders for 19's and depending on tires you would too for 18's, but u'r on the clear if u have 17's.. I would assume 18's with low profle tires would be safe too...

I'm not a big fan of 5 spoke rims on 3 series sedans, so my pick would be the second set. But then my taste is often a little conservative for most people. Sorry I can't help with the rim widths; if I had to guess, 9" would be pushing it.

I'm not a fan of the flat 5 spoke design...maybe the 6 spoke style 45 or 44 OEM designs!

I also fancy these OEM 5 spoke that work well with contrasting against the square, edgy body of the E36!

style55

style112

style 30

anyway...get something that suit your needs and personality...

yeah that is the oddest picture I'd ever seen for rims...
I swear I've seen those on one of the BMW Z series a few times 'round Manhattan.

check www.tirerack.com and put in either a E36 bmw or Z series bmw and do a rim match search for 17 inch and 18 inch and it'll come up!

I mean they have every rim possible unless those are custom made rims.

Here's my 17x8 bbs rk's. I was going to get 18x8.5 but alex at tirerack said I would need to roll my fenders.

I'm rocking the Style 30's right now lol, but I'm going for Style 42 replica's in the future

I also prefer the mesh look over the spokes, I say the 2nd choice is pretty sexy, and I think it accentuates the luxury/edgy look of the car, but if you get the 1st choice, it looks very aggressive with the deep dish and spokes...

Depends what kind of look you want really-Aggressive or Not.

I was told 8.5 was to wide. I pretty sure 18s will be fine as long as they are not to wide.
