A question about interchangability of E36 seats

Hi guys. I recently bought a 1992 E36 four-door sedan (325i) and the original manual leather seats are pretty much shot. Was wondering if seats from later years in the E36 series will fit in their place as I've found a decent set from a 1997 3 Series. Any help the forum could provide would be appreciated. Thanks. I'm in the same boat here; I would imagine they would, but hearing it from someone who has done it before never hurts

I got a msg a couple of weeks back saying that the seats tend to be model year-specific in most cases and to be careful about expecting seats from a 98 to fit a 92. That was the basic gist.
