Noise coming from the rear driver side wheel/axle??
I have had the back left wheel bearing replaced in my 1993 325is. However, now I have this horrible noise that sounds like its coming from the driver side back wheel. I have replaced the back shocks and shock mounts and to no avail the sounds keeps getting worse. At some points before the car has been moving/warmed up...it almost sounds a little bit like a grinding noise. Most recently the faster U go the loader it gets...almost unbearable in the cabin of the car. Is it possible this could be the wheel bearing again? And how bad is it for me to keep driving it like this?

Since you've replaced the shocks and shock mounts, it certainly sounds as if it's the wheel bearing, and you're describing what I experienced with my car last year, again on the driver side in the back. Your situation is also sounding rather critical (mine was getting that way and the mechanic told me not to wait on it), so get that thing replaced, I think if a bearing does fail it could lead to seizure of the wheel, not good.

Thank U for the response I really appreciate it. One last quick question...should I replace both back wheel bearings at the same time? or can I just do the one?

I asked the same question of the fellow who did the work on my car, and he said it's not necessary to do both (unless of course the opposite side is showing symptoms too). Seeing as you've already done one on your car, I'd say you're okay just doing this one.
