matinence questions
hello everyone,
i seem to be having some trouble figuring out two fairly important things on my '91 325i e36.
first, i cant figure out how to get my fuel filter out its up under the intake manifold but its got some cover over it and i cant locate ant bolts for it to put a replacement filter in. any one know of any hints of mabie a do it yourself site that will have this on it.
second, im not a licensed mechanic or anyting but my car has major troules cold starting and i think it is my idle control valve i have heard that if they get dirty this sort of thing happends. any input on how to fix this part or if its something else plz help me.

thx so much!
A good thing to do is read up on filters and changing them in the Bentley Manual for 3 series. The idle control valve must be removed by its screws and cleaned with some intake/carb cleaner, also in the Bentley Manual.

Uh, concerning the fuel filter, are you sure you're reaching for the right thing? According to Bentley, the fuel filter on early E36s is located near the left engine mount.
