With DTM are they like the ricer DTM where it makes your rear bumper really dirty? Oh yeah also with your car being auto Komodo(Sorry if i'm wrong) A loud exhaust like a system U will sound kind of like those loud automatic ricer exhausts that drone a lot?? I am just assuming so I am probably wrong....
And as for the auto thing, I rarely drive in auto mode, usually steptronic controlling the shifting manually, so as far as sound it'd sound the same as a manual car.
I voted round bcs most of the DTM tips I seen the heat gets a bit too close to the bumper and usuall u can see a different sahde of paint + they never really caught my eye

not quite the same as manual... dont have the clutch going in sound.. but that is beyond the point, i would defintaly go round, dtm=good on e30 imo. even then im all about round over dtm... personally you dont need to buy dtm to show you have aftermarket exhuast wit htehs system u, because its loud as shit
i have seen several e36s with the dtm tips and it does not look very good. if you are concerned with people knowing you have an after market exhaust the round tips on the system u are much bigger and shinier than the stock tips. go with the round tips.
^^ He's right when I had my stang with true dual exhaust + flowmasters, I had 3.5" rounded slanted tips I mean it looked nice but people would here it before they would see it (lol, that rimed)
