Why are you looking to rebuild it? It's probably only about halfway through its life span provided it hasn't been abused.

i have 182,000 on my 95 325i and the engine is still strong ass hell. i wouldnt put a supercharger on it. your going to pay alot of money just to get 44 HP. if you do the math its not worth it. i was going to turbo mine till the wreck. get the M3 cam shafts, chip it, Race Exhaust system. cold air intake. and you could throw in the M3 rear differential. that should make up for that HP and then sum. if all els fails higher octane.

You want a real bit of advice. Retrofit a current e90 model engine in, you know the twin turbo direct injection engine that'll fit right in with a minimum of fuss. THEN you're talking serious butt stompin fun.

Look for a wrecked 335 in salvage yard or through an insurance auction. They're out there it just takes some digging to find one. Yahoos roll, wreck and wrap 'em around trees every so often. Destroys the car but the engine's intact. Just a matter of placing yourself in the right place and the right time. You do enough looking you'll figure out where that is.
