Overheating Please Help
I have replaced the bloody head gasket, new gaskets all round etc... the car overheat when idling, no white smoke nothing at all, I noticed when I rev the bugger the needle drops back to centre, bring it back to idle and the needle pegs up... I have a new thermostat, belts and water pump, with new hoses the whole 9 yards... obviously the coolant isn't circulating properly or fast enough... any input would be great. Sere.

Did those gasket replacements include the timing chain gasket and the crankcase gasket? Has the entire cooling system been flushed, engine block as well as radiator? Could be an air pocket.

There's a procedure for bleeding the system. When I've performed maintenance on the cooling system it does take time to bleed the air out.
Off the top of my head, heater on full hot and open bleeder screw and let coolant circulate until air has passed and top off coolant.

Might have to raise the nose of the car while doing it too, sometimes air pockets can be a bitch. Other option is to vacuum fill the system, radkit plus is the tool you use, it'll pull a vac on the system and then fill, eliminates the need for bleeding.
