compatibility question

Will a 1992 318I Rear Differential be compatible to put on a 93 325i ?

the 325I (I'm looking to buy) needs a rear differential and my 318I (P.O.S. Car) has one that has no problems thus far.

just wondering cause I notice a lot of parts from later e36 models fit and work on my car (Air Flow Sensor, Transmissions, etc.)
