Fuel smell

Hi fellows,

Recently I am getting smell of fuel inside the car while driving. Does anyone know what could be the problem?....leaks???

One thing to do is take out the rear seat and check the integrity of the seal and lines for the fuel pump.

I had the same problem, 1st start the car and let it idle for a bit. Pop the hood and see if the smell is stronger in the engine comp. or in the rear of the car. If it is just in side or towards the back check the fule pump connections as 3050rpm suggested. I had a loose hose coming off my fuel filter under the intake manifold. It would only leak when it was cold, like below 35 deg. An inspection mirror will come in handy here. Hope it helps

I had a faint smell and it was coming from a deteriorated fuel line on the fuel filter (on my car under the drivers seat belly of car). It didn't leak enough to drip just a faint smell.

fuel smell rectified

hey fellows,

the problem is rectified...it was basically from loose bolts near the injectors...after tightening them the fuel smell has completely stopped...:tup

Keep an eye on it, if you didn't replace the o-rings it COULD start to leak/fail again but hopefully not.
