[COLOR="Red"]ok i have a vacuum leak on my 92 325i and have since i bought the car but its seems like its getting worse and now im only getting 9.2 MPG when i bought the car it was getting 14 in the city so there's a problem somewhere and i pretty much just did a tune up new plugs oil tranny fluid and filter ive tried everything but i still get $hitty gas mileage and it sounds like the vaccum leak is getting worse and if i rev it up it sounds like its a damn dyson and sucks up all the air on my block

pumping smoke is the easiest and fastest way to track down a vacuum leak.

Scooter is right, find access to some type of smoker (like a party fogger for Halloween parties) and then run a line to a vacuum line port AFTER the throttle plate and look for where it comes out, bam there's your leak. Does your idle quality suffer at all?

yes and no its not bad it idles right at about 900 to 1000 rpm but if you rev it a little at idle it will rev kind of high then when it comes back down it kind of bogs down and sounds like it wants to die but it has never actually died but my biggest concern is the gas mileage is just getting worse over time i dont know what to try

If your idle is weird you could have a leak in the intake boot. Unmetered air getting in after the MAF causes bad/unusual idle characteristics and dumps your fuel economy. The boots will develop cracks deep in the bellows and you have to REALLY look to find them. Smoke it (engine off obviously) before and after the throttle plate to be sure, or just a good inspection of the intake with it off the car to start with, may find it fast. Last option if there is no vac leak (which it sounds like there is) take it in and have the MAF checked out.
