radio problems

Can anyone help me? I drive a 91' 318 and it's complete with the factory in-dash radio. The only problem that I can't figure out is the security code you need to type in. I have the card with my radio id, but I keep getting a code error

Does anyone know how to bypass the code? or reset it somehow? I tried unplugging it from the battery, but I still can't listen to anything. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not aware of there being a bypass code, the only thing I know is that if you muff entering the code in three successive tries, you have to leave the radio on for ONE HOUR before making another attempt. If you still have problems, I'm afraid it'll mean a trip to dealer and the loss of some $$.

I had the same problem. You need to take the radio out and get the serial number. I called dealer and gave my serial number and they gave me the code over phone for free. If they charge you, you can post the serial number and I'll call the dealer and get the code.
