E36 M43 > M52 Conversion

Hello all this is my first post so i will jump right in,
I have read many other posts about engine conversions and have a few questions.
I have a 1999 e36 318 auto touring that i want to put a six cylinder engine into. I have a complete 1997 328 manual and a complete 1996 528 manual for parts ect.

The 'basic' task of getting everthing 'mechanical' swapped looks no problem, the engine / gearbox / clutch master cylinder / diff ect..
But how complex is it to change the wiring and ECU, does the M52 engine harness plug into the same 'plug' as the M43, also i have read about problems with the 'EWS' - i have looked inside my key and i have a small 'chip' for the imobiliser (ews), i also have the same type of key for the 328, so would it be possible to change the engine/ engine loom / ecu / ews box / and swap the chip inside the key (removes the need to change locks) and end up with a car that runs?? , the 328 'doner' car i have runs great but has accident damage so all the parts are there
I am just unsure if the engine harness - ecu and ews from the 328 will 'connect' to the exsisting 318 wiring loom..

Cheers
Any ideas or help would be great.

I have removed all the parts i need from the doner car..... i think
Engine
Gearbox
Mounts
Full engine loom
ECU
EWS control unit and key transponder chip
Dash Cluster
Exhaust system
Diff
Drive shafts
pedals and clutch M/cylinder+hoses ect..
...
The engine loom has TWO round connector plugs that plug into the wiring at the fuse box, one of these plugs only has a few wires, on my own car (318) the engine loom only seems to use one round connector (battery hides this),
Has anyone swapped a m43 for a m52 and encountered this??, it has been suggested that the other plug on the m52 harness is for the OBC??.

...also when i swap the transmission for the manual one what happens to the TCM module??

I have all the parts removed but i am still unsure about the wiring being 100% plug and play and i do not want to be left with a headache.

Cheers
