Timing Chain?

so theres this kind of tapping noise coming from the visible part of my valve cover. im thinking its the timing chain slapping or something. do i get a new chain? anyone else have this problem? what chains should i get and is there anything else i should replace while i have my valve cover off?
Thank you.

I'm far from being an authority on automotive mechanics, but all you might need to do is change the tensioner, I understand quite easy and inexpensive to do yourself.

I believe pelicanparts.com has a very good DIY write up on this (and a bunch of other things), go to their site and I think off on the left side there's a link to "Technical Articles" or some such thing, that should answer any questions you may have.
