obc help

I just got a used 94 325is. I notice the the obc does not work in it. Is it worth me spending the money for a new one or used one? Or will the car run just fine with out it working?

The OBC just provides you with warnings about bulbs being out, and low fluids. In my experience it just tells me when I need wiper fluid, and let's me know when another sensor(who's only function is to report to the OBC) has gone bad.

Try a trip to the junkyard, may run 5-10 bucks 'cause most those pull it yourself yards don't even know what they're looking at when you go to pay.

There is a chance

you might just need bulbs.

The car will run fine without the obc, obc gives you warning such as failing light, sensors, etc , i would recommend on buying a used one provided it's in good condition especially the 18 buttons . lesser buttons don't have much use for me or new one provided it's not expensive but at the dealers it expensive. Get it or also check the Obc bulbs.
