93 318i wont start
pretty sure this has to do with the alarm. my car died on me and i opened the trunk to get the jumper cables. when i closed the trunk, the alarm went off and i was able to start the car.
is there any way to disable the alarm? i never use it. also, i only have one key and i think my battery in the key is dieing.
any suggestions??? please i'm not sure what to do and i want to get to work and home ok.

Not positive on the alarm systems, however I have bypassed the factory systems on other vehicles by jumping a wire and bypassing the starter kill relay in the fuse box. Hope it helps

thanks!!!! i'll keep that in mind. i've removed two fuses and i'm hoping that works. up until last night, the car died again while i tried to start it with only one fuse missing. if it is a fuse issue, i don't know which one it is. i've played with removing four fuses, which worked for a day, but i got a new alarm installed and was trying it out with only one fuse missing.
it seems switching the alarm on/off, or opening/closing the trunk, wakes the car up.
we'll see how it works with fuses "8" and "43" missing. it's weird though, because everytime the car acts up it completey resets the battery (or at least the clock and radiostations).

Check your battery cables for cleanliness and tightness, battery is back there in the trunk, and opening and closing the trunk may be jarring the cables in and out of contact.
