Clutch fluid

The Bentley manual has a section on bleeding and flushing the clutch fluid. This has never been done on my car, although I have had the brake fluid flushed about ever three years. Pardon the seemingly stupid questions, but are the clutch and brake fluid systems integrated? In other words, does flushing the brake system automatically mean that the clutch fluid has been flushed, or it there a separate reservoir for the clutch that isn't directly affected by the brake system? One reason why I ask is that there is a bleed valve for the clutch, and replenishment is done through the brake reservoir.
