newbie here

Hey peps! I’m somewhat a newbie here. Here goes my first post! In October I acquired FREE 1998 318TI. The best part of the car was that it only had about 51K miles. The reason for the low mileage is because the car has been sitting in a driveway for the last 3 to 5 years. It’s a long story why the car hasn’t been driven; don’t want to get into it!

Did a major tune up on the car! Car runs fine (shake once in a while, could be due to the cold). The next upgrade that I’m planning on doing is DEPO headlights with a HID kit from ddmtuning (waiting for them to go on sale)

I hope you enjoy the car for many happy miles. A couple of comments, if you don't mind... Since the car has sat for such a long period of time, I think you should change ALL fluids and flush the appropriate systems, engine oil, transmission fluid, differential oil, coolant, brake fluid. All related filters as well, and don't forget the battery acid level.

I don't recall the specifics, but I do remember coming across a problem with the M42 engine, I believe it was, perhaps something having to do with the water pump seal, or some other gasket. Do a little research, perhaps even on this forum, to check it out so you can avoid a big time problem.

Congrats on the free bimmer! Good call on DDMtuning, I've purchased a number of items from them, and have never been disappointed.

welcome aboard.
i do agree that ddm carries subpar products and i experienced it first hand, i ordered a set of depo for my e46 and got some no brand cheap copies and was told it was an honest mistake all this after waiting 8 weeks for delivery.
3 more weeks resulted in being delivered another set of knock offs at which point i opted to get my money back.
i would stay as far as possible from this outfit they seem extremely suspect, they never pick the phon up, the shipping is horrible and their customer service is the worst i have experienced.
take your business elsewhere.

This board really hates DDMtuning... : Maybe they've got something against UB, they seem to be quick to help on Bf.c.

hey guys

The only thing in the tune up was the transmission oil, brake fluid, and fuel filter. Planning on changing out the micro filters this spring. I was thinking about changing out the transmission oil, but I read the manual and it said it didn't need to be changed. Should I change it out?

I have notice this forum doesn't like ddmtuning much! I might just go with bavtoys.com. What do you guys think of this set up: Depo Gen-4 with 50w Digital Prolumen 6K and chromium angel eyes?
