can i adjust MAF settings? or clean MAF element
hey guys i have an e36 316i
i was wondering if is it possible to adjust my MAF settings for better fuel delivery and if is it possible to clean the element inside? because my car has idle problems in the morning and i feel thr is fuel starvation how do i clean it or adjust the MAF settings please help! |
You really can't/shouldn't adjust your MAF settings. There is a shitty way to do it with a capacitor, but I'm not telling you how. You can clean it though. You should be able to find a can of MAF/electrical component cleaner at your local auto parts store. It's a simple spray the hell out of it, let it dry, and done.
There are a number of other things that can be causing your problem. Consider spark plugs, o2 sensors, ect... |
hey bro thanks for the reply. dude i would really appreciate it if you could tell me how to adjust the settings with a capacitor because i have already messed with the settings:( and so i need to fix it. i would be really grateful. also i changed my spark plugs three years ago should i change them now? and whr are the o2 sensors located?

Your plugs are due to be changed. This is very likely your problem. o2 sensor is in the exhaust, but don't worry about looking into that until your plugs are changed. Don't clean your MAF sensor with anything other than MAF cleaner http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg |
