1995 BMW 325i won't start

Sometimes the car will start and other times it won't. Bought a new battery and cleaned the ground strap up. Checked the relays and the ignition switch, everything is getting power. The next step is to check the wires on the starter, because the starter is getting power. Any thoughts or ideas of what might be wrong with it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not clear on your description- does it crank each time, even when it doesn't start, or when it doesn't start it also doesn't crank? The times when it doesn't start, is it after a long period of not running, such as overnight? How does it run when it does start, smoothly or erratically? I wonder if you might have a faulty fuel pump relay (when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?) or leaky fuel injectors.

When the car doesn't start it doesn't crank or do anything. The radio and lights come on, but nothing happens. When it does start it runs great. It can be jump started, by pushing it and popping it into gear. My husband thinks it's something electrical. He's going to stop and see the BMW tech that has worked on the car in the past. We have a lot of money in that car because when we first got it after one winter in storage it wouldn't start so we had to replace the keys and computer. I've talked to the tech and he says it's not the computer or the keys again or it wouldn't start at all. That's good news in it self. I love my car, but when anything goes wrong it's so expensive and hard to find someone that knows about all the little quirks. I appreciate any feedback, hopefully we'll get it fixed soon.

Well, it might be the crankshaft position sensor...

I can tell U that if UR battery was dead, then ur alternator is not giving u the proper charge. One easy way to test UR alternator is to start car and while running take of negitive terminal and if car shuts off the alternator is bad. If not that then sound like starter is bad.

My husband found the problem it's the transmitter module. It's under the dash on the drivers side. He tapped on it an the car started right up. He talked to the BMW tech and we're going to order one of those. Thanks for all your suggestions.
