Best Headlights Recommendations?

Hey all... my 328i came with some super nice HID's when
I first got it, but it was not installed properly by the previous
owner's guy, and it burned through part of the casing, so
either i spent another $400+ on new HID's or I went with
regular whites, and thats what I did, too expensive.

For the past few times, I have just ordered some cheapy white
bulbs off ebay for like $10-$15 each, but they seem to be
blowing out every two years or so, and that seems a bit too
frequent... so any suggestions on any bright whites/blues
that may not be quite HID's but maybe closer to Xenons
for reasonable prices, and where I can order from?

Thanks!

I would not go for regular xenon white lights. It may have nice color temperature but the brightness and intensity is not there. I just replaced my fog light with xenon white lights, I am not happy with the intensity. I mean there is no light intensity. I am shopping for hid kits that cost about $60 on ebay to replace the regular helogen light system. check out the links below

Thanks for the info.... someone jus suggested some HID kits that go for $120... r u sure these $60 kits are ok? I know there must be tons of crap out there, refurbs or second grade... I dunno anything about light qualities so... I jus dont wanna spend $60 and have them melt or go in 6 months.

well.... I emailed a few buyers from ebay who also bought the same hid kit and they told me that they are happy with the product and quality. That has given me confident to buy something cheaper from ebay.

And u getting HID fogs too eh? those look nice... u prefer them over yellow ones? I thought yellow cuts thru fog better, lol, if u actually use them for "fog." But those and HID headlights, geez, that might be brighter than high beams!!

true.... yellow cuts thru fog better, I choose to use 6000k mainly for brightness and look. We don't see that many fog here in TEXAS.

Haha i feel ya, I'm in FL but go up to NY a bit so... ya.. i dont really care about the yellow either... i actually rather jus have more brightness bec where i live now, the lights are bad so its so dark everywhere i need to put on my high beams to make sure i dont kill anyone at night. Is it easy to adjust the beam angle so i make sure it doesnt blind oncoming traffic?

I agree ebay may not have the best warrantees... seems like the bavtoys minimum kit is $100 + more $$$ for extras like color, warranty, etc... so maybe about $150 when it is all said and done, that seem right? And they sell HID right, not lights that look like HID?

I also heard good things about ddmtuning.com, ever heard of them?

Apexcone 35W/55W Full Size Ballast HID Kit

Ok, I was looking at the Apexcone 35W/55W Full Size Ballast HID Kit on ddmtuning.com for $50 u get everything needed to run HID's? Some people talk about "projectors".... what r those and do they need to be purchased separately? And can I still use the old high beam bulbs?

Is 55W for high beam only?

And there are all these choices.. as far as color, is this correct?

3000K (Golden Yellow)
5000K (OEM White)
6000K (Diamond White)
8000K (Iceberg blue) [I assume this is just off-white?]
10000K (Brilliant Blue) [I assume this is "more blue" than 8000K]
12000K (Exotic Violet)
30000K (Pink Violet) [Who gets this????]

So for the best lighting without looking cheesy, is 8000K the most "natural light?" Or is it the 6000K?

Also, all these "H" bulb types, why so many? I just want the brightest low beams that will light up the road and anything in front of me the best way possible... is there such a thing? Geez I didnt know lights also contained a huge can of worms for crying out loud....

Now from bavtoys.com, is the $120+ kit like the UDD Slim Hid/Xenon D2S Kit there somehow better than the Apexcone?
