where should my rpms be at 70 mph?

I have 95 325i automatic. Im used to my 5 speed e30 but it seems as though the e36 is revving too high. at 70ish it will be at 3000 rpms. is that right?
I still get good mileage, just curious

Doesn't sound crazy at 80 i'm usually between 3500-4000 in my e30, 70 is probably right near 3000.

Most places its 70, in metro areas 55, I like to pretend it's 90 and haven't driven the car on the highway since august or september, thats why I can't say for sure the revs below that.
